There are a plethora of gameplay systems in Diablo 4 to progress your character. One of the aspects we found most interesting was the different types of Glyphs for the Paragon Board system, and we believe many players will want to farm Glyphs in Diablo 4 as quickly as possible.
This article explains how you can unlock Diablo 4 Glyph drops, and provides farming tips to quickly get the ones you would love to add to Paragon Sockets the most, so let's get started.
Update on 18 July 2023: We've updated this article with the latest info on quickly farming Glyphs in Diablo 4 Season 1 from our experience.
How To Unlock Glyph Drops in Diablo 4 Season 1
You do not have to be in World Tier 3 (Nightmare) difficulty to unlock Glyph drops in Diablo 4. The only thing players need to achieve is to reach level 50 with a character, unlocking the Paragon Board system.
Once this is unlocked, you will start seeing Glyph drops anywhere in Sanctuary. There are, however, ways to farm Glyphs in Diablo 4 quickly.
Quick Glyphs Farming Tips in Diablo 4's Endgame
To get started, and possibly find your first Glyph drops as well, is to complete the campaign and finish the priority quest called Whispers of the Dead. You are tasked with collecting 10 Grim Favors. Once completed, the Tree of Whispers bounty system is unlocked.
This bounty system is a great source of Glyphs from caches as a reward for acquiring 10 Grim Favors. However, the biggest reason to do more Tree of Whispers quests is to get Nightmare Sigils.
Once you get Nightmare Sigils, you can turn a selection of Dungeons into Nightmare Dungeons. You must complete the Capstone dungeon Cathedral of Light to unlock World Tier 3 difficulty, as this is the only way to get Nightmare Sigils and run Nightmare Dungeons.
During our Diablo 4 review period, we've found that Nightmare Dungeons have arguably the highest drop rate for Glyphs. Furthermore, you earn XP towards upgrading the Glyphs you get. The higher the Nightmare Dungeon, the higher the Glyph experience reward players can get. Each Nightmare Dungeon tier adds +2 XP gained for Glyphs once completed. At Tier 100, if you can possibly clear it, you will gain 202 Glyph XP.
Running Nightmare Dungeons with affixes that you can clear quickly is the best way to farm Glyphs, and you'll see multiple Magic and Rare quality Glyphs drop with each run.
Alternative sources include World Bosses, events, Gathering Legions, Helltides, Rare Elites, and more.
Check out the Diablo 4 live-action launch trailer in case you haven't seen it yet, and prepare for countless Nightmare Dungeon runs to get all the Glyphs you want for your character's build.
Hopefully, this guide will help prospective Nephalem to quickly farm Glyphs and get the drops they want in Diablo 4. If a better, faster way for farming Glyphs becomes available, we will endeavor to update this article accordingly.
